Stephen Wanjala is a seasoned Development Finance Specialist with over 33 years of extensive experience in affordable housing finance across Africa and the Middle East. As the Executive Director of Housing and Development Finance Consultants (Africa) Ltd, he leads innovative projects aimed at promoting sustainable housing finance solutions and capacity building within the sector. With a robust background in market research and analysis, Stephen has successfully designed and implemented over 20 projects focused on incremental housing finance. He has collaborated closely with organizations such as Housing Finance Bank Uganda, the National Treasury of South Africa, the Bank of Tanzania (BOT), Financial Sector Deepening Trust (FSDT), the World Bank, UNOPS, Habitat for Humanity International, and various national governments.An advocate for incremental housing finance, Stephen has been instrumental in establishing housing microfinance programs in multiple African countries, fostering partnerships with financial institutions to enhance accessibility and affordability in the housing market.
